The Mob Film Company Christmas Party 2010
Mainline sub-contracted to The Audio Group [new window] to supply a DJ console, PA sound system and effects lighting for The Mob Film Company Christmas Party, held in Manchester. The free-standing DJ console was constructed from Global tri-truss sections, which also provided mounting points for the various lighting and effects fixtures. DJ equipment included Technics 1210 turntables and Pioneer CDJ-1000 CD decks.

Hull Christmas Lights switch-on
Mainline provided PA, stage sound and live sound mixing for the Hull City 2010 Christmas Lights switch-on. The event organisers were very pleased with attendance despite the poor weather and lack of 'celebrity' artistes this year. The show went very well in spite of extremely tight turn-arounds between performances. Acts included local folk rock bands, choirs soloist performers, and dancers.

Blackpool Football Club kit launch - October 2010
Models and players promote the new Blackpool FC kit
Mainline provided PA and lighting for the official launch of Blackpool FC's new Premiership football kit. The event was well attended, and the club took full opportunity to show off their various available clothing ranges on the catwalk, worn by models, players and local young supporters. A question & answer session was also held with two of the players, plus freestyle ball handling & control demonstrations.

Building on the popularity of the 2009 Halloween event, ELR expanded their production for 2010, selling out one month prior to the event. Mainline supplied mood and effect lighting plus PA system to compliment the ghoulish surroundings at Bury Bolton Street station, complete with background music and suitable sound effects for the event.

Manchester Pride 2010 - August 2010
Mainline were very pleased and proud to be involved in supporting and providing services & equipment to Manchester Pride 2010.
We provided a PA sound system for the Pride launch party at Selfridges, Manchester.

For the Manchester Pride main event, Mainline provided lighting, PA and live sound services for the Village Square Stage. 2010 saw significant developments to the stage production and use during the main weekend. Mainline are pleased to have played a part in delivering a successful three day production for the client. A very varied line-up included live acts from singer-songwriters, bands, cabaret acts, poets, stand-up, and dancing demonstrations in front of the stage.

Manchester Pride Dinner - September 2010
Mainline provided the entire production support for the inaugural Manchester Pride Dinner, at the Palace Hotel in Manchester in September 2010. Public and local business representatives joined top celebrities for an evening of fundraising and entertainment, including performances by Ellis, Pam Ann, and Gemma Latham, with compere duties carried out expertly by Graham Norton.

With a working title of 'Beer in the Cow Shed', Mainline provided full light and sound production for a brand new live music venture on an organic farm in the heart of Cheshire. Two events were held over the summer of 2010, with a variety of north west and local rock, pop and indie bands. Mainline provided lighting for all heats and final of the 2010 annual Dancing In The Streets competition held at The Printworks in Manchester city centre. The final saw street dance duo and Britain’s Got Talent finalists Twist and Pulse perform and join the panel of judges. The competition was hosted throughout by T4 & Shameless' Anthony Crank, and won by Manchester Dance Crew, Shockarellas.

Avolites Expert Touch Wing add-on for the

Following on from our beta-testing of Avolites Titan desk software, we were pleased to be one of the first users to get our hands on the new Expert Touch Wing addition to our Pearl Expert Titan lighting control desk.
The Expert Touch Wing is an excellent tool and although requiring different programming skills, it definitely gets our thumbs up all round. This increases LO programming efficiency significantly, and opens up far more possibilities such as making 'busking' easier, taking the Pearl Expert Titan lighting desk to a whole new level.
Credit goes to Avolites for taking all precautions to explain and document all the Expert desk modifications necessary to prepare for the Touch Wing - everything was clear, with great attention to detail, and we completed our upgrade including all new software installation within a couple of hours. [ Of course, Avolites will also provide this service if you're not confident about upgrading your own Pearl Expert desk. ] More Touch Wing feature details [new window] are available on the Avolites site.

Britannia Hotels "Brit Awards" - August 2010
Mainline sub-contracted to The Audio Group [new window] provided PA, live sound and lighting services for the Britannia Hotel chain "Brit Awards" charity dinner held at their Stockport hotel. Following the lavish dinner, guests were treated to vocal performances by Cleo [new window] (from 90's RnB / Soul / Pop stars Cleopatra) and by well-renowned vocalist & celebrity vocal coach Sheila M Gott [new window], before the resident DJ finished off the evening.

Scooch - "Don't Stop Believing" - July 2010

Manchester's Velvet Hotel hosted a benefit event headlined by popsters and Eurovision contestants Scooch, performing numbers from Glee and their own releases. Mainline sub-contracted to The Audio Group [new window] in providing full production facilities for this very popular event which saw the bar filled to the rafters, with all proceeds going to the George House Trust. The size and layout of the bar and acoustics presented quite a challenge to the team in maximising the available audience area and sound coverage, but still leaving enough stage area for the four members of Scooch. Although there was no room for a larger format sound mixing desk, the full Allen & Heath iLive system power was still available for this small venue by running the iLive editor software on a notebook PC. Hence 'Front Of House' was able to share the resident DJ booth!

Mainline sub-contracted to The Audio Group [new window] to provide sound systems and support for the Coloursfest dance festival event at Glasgow's Braehead Arena. The dance event comprised two main arenas and 3 more support arenas / areas. Trance, tech, hardhouse and hardstyle lineups were headed by leading DJ names such as Above & Beyond, Sander Van Doorn, Lisa Lashes, Gareth Emery, Kutski, Sean Tyas and Dutch outfit Showtek.

Mainline sub-contracted to The Audio Group [new window] to provide sound system and lighting installation services for Tokyo Industries FAC251 [new window] club refurbishment in February 2010. FAC251 is located in the old Factory Records building in Manchester city centre. The club opened on time despite a number of challenges faced by the client, contractors, management and installation teams. We are pleased and proud to have been involved with a new chapter in Manchester's legendary music scene.
